THE PORN STAR MATRIX: THE 50 MOST POWERFUL PORN STARS ON THE INTERNET
In creating our web series, PG PORN, we wanted to cast the porn stars who would give us the most bang for our buck. We weren’t necessarily looking for the most famous porn stars, or even the stars who sold the most DVD units — although we certainly wanted to take those things into account. What we desired were stars who actually had the most online power, who would drive the most web traffic to their PG PORN episodes.
So our crack team of pornologists created a mathematical formula that combines GOOGLE SEARCH TERM HITS over the past year and past month + GOOGLE UPWARD TRENDS + PERSONAL WEB SITE HITS + TWITTER FOLLOWERS + MYSPACE FRIENDS + SOME SECRET SHIT. We didn’t just add these up, but balanced various numbers to come up with an INTERNET POWER NUMBER for each porn star. Search term hits were the most important feature here, with HUGE UPWARD TRENDS (such as Sasha Grey and Stoya) and HUGE WEB SITES (like Brandi Belle and Catalina Cruz) and LARGE TWITTER CONTINGENTS (like Belladonna and Bree Olson), etc., factored in accordingly.
With this list in hand, we went about casting our PG PORN episodes, trying to use the most powerful adult stars we could. (One caveat: if the girls were flakes, thieves, assholes, or drug addicts, we wouldn’t ask them to be in an episode, no matter how highly they ranked. No use having a mega-powerful star if she steals my priceless Marvel Heroclix collection.)
The Porn Star Matrix has remained utterly secret, seen only by the Good Boys Productions inner sanctum. But, now, for the first time, we have decided to share this list with the rest of the world. There may be other lists on the internet, but I believe ours is the most unbiased and valid.
But, before you check it out, a few things must be noted:
A) Yes, I know, some of these people are no longer active porn stars (Crissy Moran, for instance, is a born-again Christian). But our PG Porn philosophy was if we could get them to star in episodes they would still drive considerable traffic. PG PORN shows no prejudice to retired porn stars.
B) It is possible that a powerful porn star was left off this list. Although we ran the numbers for at least 250 adult stars, it’s possible we missed a couple. If you mention your favorite below, I’ll let you know whether we ran her numbers or not.
C) Technically, some of these people would not be considered “porn stars”, as they don’t engage in hardcored pornography. But we included overtly erotic nude models in the list as well.

BTW, James…my favorite aspect of this blog entry? People felt passionate enough to argue against how you went about determining the list. Hot women is not a distraction enough to impact the human tendancy for list making. :)

I’m sure her numbers would be too low to make your list, but would you consider working with Charlie Laine? She seems like she has a pretty decent sense of humor.
Heh, I got rid of my Heroclix a couple of months ago (minus one or two figures). I should have sent them to you!

why wouldn’t it be a positive thing? i mean, they choose to start doing it, and they choose to continue doing it.. and they’re adults and can think for themselves.. so if they saw it as a negative thing, don’t you think they would quit? or “retire”? no matter what you do, there will always be people who support you, and there will always be people to put you down, that’s just life..
i think it would be a blast though, personally!

I guess I’m thinking more about how being a part of the industry affects the stars’ personal lives and relationships.
Now that I write this out, maybe it’s a little deeper subject than you would prefer to tackle in a blog like this and maybe you wouldn’t even have a good perspective from which to comment, but after having met many in the industry, do you think it’s a generally positive thing for the women involved?
As a woman, I just sometimes wonder if I’m supporting something that’s messing people up, ya know?

FortheLove – I think I have, a little. I blogged about Secrets from Porn Industry Insiders. Other than that, I don’t really know what to blog. Belladonna and her husband Aiden have become very good friends, but it’s very much like any other friendship, with the occasional tale of gagging on a cock thrown into dinner conversation (well, thrown into dinner conversation by someone other than me.) I’ve been luck to have worked with porn stars who are responsible and kind, so I just don’t have a lot of nitty-gritty dirty news to share.
